What’s The Story?
I want to offer a different approach to the mortgage advice process. One that that reflects my values and principles and provides a personalised service that genuinely puts YOU at the heart of the process.
What’s the difference?
I moved from education, back into the financial services sector, advising in both corporate and independent estate agency settings. It wasn’t for me. I’m not a fan of the numbers focused, corporate approach to mortgage advice.
It’s not my style and is totally at odds with my values. The people behind those numbers almost became invisible and that just didn’t feel right.
That Mortgage Woman provides advice and recommendations based on the best interests of our clients based on their personal circumstances. we do not have targets.
Who we are…
An Informal, but Professional Approach
I take the business of mortgage advice, seriously because it’s not just a practical, administrative process, it’s an emotional one; after all, we’re talking about your home and your financial security.
I Will…
➡️ Take time to get to know you – the better I know you, the better I can help you.
➡️ Take a very relaxed and informal approach – I want you to feel comfortable.
➡️ Always give clear explanations – so you have the knowledge and understanding to feel confident in your choices.
➡️ Use Plain English – I keep technical jargon to a minimum and if I do have to use it – I’ll explain it.
➡️ I don’t hide behind a corporate image – you won’t find me suited & booted, it’s just not my style.
My education, experience, skills, qualifications and values make me a professional, a real person, with real life experience, and a personality and I think it would be a shame to hide that away!

People First
I want to make advice accessible and affordable, so I offer discounts for our affordable housing clients and ALL trade union members. Why? because generally, these are public sector employees and tend to be lower paid than the private sector. (Remember I see those payslips!)

Education
Knowledge is Power, so I will share as much as I can, through my website and social media channels to keep you informed and up to speed with everything Mortgage & Protection related. I want you to really understand your mortgage and help you get it paid off ASAP!

Social Mobility
Home ownership drives social mobility. I’m on a mission to get as many people as possible out of the rental trap and into home ownership as quickly as I can. So NO Buy to Let advice here. It’s just not compatible with the ethos of That Mortgage Woman.

Transparency
I’m human, life happens, but whatever happens, I’ll will keep you in the loop, with regular proactive and reactive updates. I aim to respond to all communications within a maximum of 24 hours. If I can’t I’ll let you know when you can expect an update.

Our most, favourite, client feedback ever, was from a 21 year old client remortgaging for the first time in very difficult circumstances…
“…What I like about you is that I know that you listen, you explain everything so that I understand and you don’t make me feel stupid, so I can ask you questions and we can have a bit of a laugh!‘…”
KN – stroud
Who thought arranging your mortgage would be a laugh?!
Social Mobility
We are passionate about Social Mobility.
I personally benefitted from opportunities through education and government policy in the early 2000’s, that enabled me to go from Homeless Teen Mum to Graduate, Teacher and now Business Founder, to build a life I would have though unimaginable 25 years ago.
Everyone should be able to access healthcare, educate themselves to the level they want, have job security and know the security and comfort of owning their own home. These are basic things!!
Everyone should be safe in the knowledge that their housing is secure.

What is Social Mobility?
Social mobility is rooted in 4 things:
- A Permanent Job with Secure Terms & Conditions
- Access to Healthcare
- Quality Education
- A Secure Home
It’s JUST the basics.
Experience
I was born into homelessness and the world of temporary housing.
I lived in 18 different homes in her first 26 years, including; temporary accommodation, social housing and private rented accommodation. I have made 2 homelessness applications.
Now I have multiple qualifications and own my own home & business.
